William "Billy" Edward Mars

William Edward "Billy" Mars, 87, of Russellville, died Saturday, January 22, 2022, at his residence. A memorial service will be 1:00PM, Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Grace Baptist Church of Russellville with Rev. Roger Pearce officiating. A private committal service was held at the new Chapel of Light at the J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center by Humphrey Funeral Service.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, a brother, two sons, and a granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara; their daughter, Carolyn Lindemann (Dale) of Russellville; their son, Wendell Mars of Russellville; five grandchildren: April Lynn (Shane) of Jefferson City, MO; Sondra Guajardo (Rudy) of Pottsville, AR; Misty Liles (Corey) of Dardanelle; Trinity Smith (Tim) of Jacksonville, FL; and Robert Mars of Russellville; his sister, JoAnn Hendrickson (Jim) of Hot Springs; 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

The son of Dexter and Mary Iva (Cornelius) Mars, he was born September 3, 1934, in Russellville. He married Barbara Jo (Minyard) Mars, on May 20, 1955, in Russellville. He was a Meter Reader with AP & L for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and building model ships.
