Willis R. Langford Obituary (1919

Willis R. Langford, 83, of Dardanelle, Arkansas , formerly of Russellville & Scottsville, Arkansas, died Saturday, May 10, 2003 at Dardanelle Nursing Center in Dardanelle, AR. The son of the late Edward and Mettie (Hollabaugh) Langford, he was born October 20, 1919 in Scottsville, Arkansas. He was a United States Army Veteran of WW II. He was a Bus Driver & Mechanic with the Hector & Dover School Districts; a Welder, Mechanic & Heavy Equipment Operator With Ben Hogan Construction, as well as a Volunteer Firefighter for Scottsville/Hector; and a Volunteer (known as 'The Little Old Man In Overalls') with the US Forestry Service for several years. He attended Price Grove, Scottsville, Hector, and Oakland Heights Assemblies of God Churches. He was preceded in death by his wife, Etter Cordelia (Warnick) Langford; a son, Richard H. Langford (Vietnam-1965); and one brother, Eugene Langford. Survivors include two daughters, Wanda K. (and Jack) Smith of Russellville; Sarah Frances Langford of Booneville; five sisters, Louise (and Raymond) Barton of Russellville, Irma Sherman of Dover, Margaret (and Oscar) Duvall of Russellville, Kathryn Cochran of Hector, Mary (and Jerry) Branch of Appleton; 2 grandchildren; 3 geat granddaughters; one great great granddaughter. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at the Humphrey Chapel officiated by Rev. Sam Goates, Rev. Kenneth Bull, and Rev. Jerry Patton. Burial will be at Goates Cemetery at Scottsville, Arkansas under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday. PDF Printable Version
